FAQs
A. BECOMING A BUSINESS OWNER
- Do I have to be a Business Owner to shop?
No. You can shop at the eCosway Shopping Mall, as long as you
have been "invited" by a Business Owner or a registered Shopper.
As a Visitor, you can gain access by using the ID of the Business Owner or Shopper who invited you.
- What are the benefits of becoming a Business Owner?
You'll be participating in global e-commerce without the usual
set-up costs, without building a website, without setting up a
merchant account, without negotiating with suppliers, and without
all of the hassles of product sourcing and international fulfillment.
You can earn 10-28% retail profit on the eVolume
generated by your shopper network. This includes products purchased
by you and your shoppers, plus the purchases of all of the shoppers
your shoppers refer in order to get more Value Points to participate
in our Shoppers Rewards Program.
You can add branches by introducing other people to become eCosway
Business Owners and earn overriding profit on all
of the eVolume they generate when they bring in shoppers and other
Business Owners. There is no limit to the expansion of your Shopper
Network or your network of Business Owner branches. The referrals
can go on endlessly and can include people from all over the world.
With eCosway's Profit Plan,
your profit potential is unlimited. You'll receive all of the
tools, training and support you need to be successful.
You also get access to the Business Ownership Support System
(B.O.S.S.) which includes:
• Your Own Branch of the eCosway Mall
• A 24-hour Online Office
• A Business Development and Resource Center
• A Customizable Online Prospecting System
- Who can become a Business Owner?
Any individual who has attained the age of majority in his/her
country of residence (usually 18 years) and any registered business
entity.
- What kind of income can I expect?
Please refer to the Profit Plan.
- Do I have to buy something in order to become a Business
Owner?
No.
- How do I become a Business Owner?
Submit the New
Business Owner Registration Form and pay US$60 for your one-time
registration fee and your first year access fee. If you
are in Australia, Brunei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, or Thailand, you can register at your
local sales centers and ask for details on the offline program.
- How do I pay for my registration?
You may pay using your Visa or MasterCard online. In countries/republics
where there are eCenters, you can make
cash payment in your local currency equivalent to US$60. Click here to check if there's an eCenter in your area.
- Why am I given a Business Owner ID?
The Business Owner ID identifies who you are and allows you to
access the eCosway website, your online office and to make personal
purchases. You also use it to introduce other shoppers or Business
Owners, and to correspond with eCosway.
Your ID enables us to reward you with points and profits when you qualify for them.
- Can I change my Business Owner ID?
No. You cannot change your Business Owner ID.
- Can I change my Password?
Yes. You can change your password by logging into your Online
Office. Just select "change password" and follow the instructions.
If you have forgotten your password, go to the Business Owners
Area and click on the "Forgot Password" link just below "Login".
Your existing password will be sent to your e-mail address.
- How do I renew my annual access fee?
When you register as a Business Owner, the system will select
the Auto Renewal feature for you by default. You can change
this
by going into the "My Profile" section in your online office. Please
note that the Auto Renewal will be effective only if you have
enough money in your eAccount for deduction when your renewal
fee is due each year. If you are in a country with sales centers or eCenters, you can renew offline by going to the center and paying your renewal fee there.
- Can I 'WILL' my eCosway Business to a next of kin?
Yes.
- Can I sell, transfer or assign my eCosway Business?
Yes. You can sell, transfer or assign your eCosway Business subject
to subclause 3.20 of eCosway's Policies & Procedures.
- What is the Initial Sale Offer (ISO)?
The Initial Sale Offer (ISO) is designed to help you get off
to a fast start and achieve your goals quickly. If you
make any online purchase within 10 days of registering yourself as a Business
Owner, eCosway will allot 80eV for that sale. If you became
a
Business Owner by converting from an offline program, please
check with your upline or your local sales center for details
on the
ISO. You will also be exempted from QU (Qualification Unit)
requirement for the 1st month if you do an ISO sale. Please see
the Profit Plan
for details.
B. Telling my friends about eCosway
- Does eCosway allow SPAMMING?
No. Unsolicited, unidentified, or misleading email is illegal
in many jurisdictions. It is important that Clause 3.2.2 of Policies
and Procedures be read and understood by every potential Business
Owner. Click here to read our Advertising
& Anti-Spam Policy .
- Why does eCosway have such a strict anti-spamming policy?
eCosway will not condone any activity that potentially violates
the laws of any country or jurisdiction. We also have to protect
the interests of our Business Owners. If a Business Owner engage
in spamming activities, all eCosway Business Owners and Shoppers
will suffer because eCosway's domains might be blacklisted by
Internet Service Providers. There are many legitimate ways for
Business Owners to build their eCosway business without resorting
to sending unsolicited email. We ask Business Owners to preserve
the income potential for everyone. PLEASE DON'T SPAM.
- How will eCosway know if I have spammed?
A complaint can be lodged against you regarding your activity
by anyone sending us a copy of your offending post or e-mail.
- What if I'm not really guilty of spamming?
We will investigate the complaint lodged against you. The company
reserves the right to bar your access to the website if you are
suspected of spamming. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Business Owners
who do not Spam may still become a target of a Spam complaint.
Therefore, we advise you to save copies of email, instant messages
and chat room conversations showing that a person requested information
from you. Having these copies is your strongest defense against
a wrongful Spam allegation, so store them in back-up files or
print them out as hard copies.
- Can I send ANY email to prospective Business Owners and
Shoppers?
Yes, you can prospect your friends and relatives provided they
have consented to it.
- Can I create my own marketing materials or design a website
to promote eCosway?
Not without written approval from eCosway. This is necessary to
protect the rights, image and reputation of eCosway. We need to
make sure that the Company is not misrepresented and that Business
Owners do not make false claims and promises. For details, please
refer to Clause 3.20 of eCosway's Policies and Procedures.
C. Earning from eCosway
- How much profit do I earn with eCosway?
Profits are based on the sale of products from your global Business
Network. Since you won't be able to predict the exact amount of
eV that will be generated by your Network each month, you won't
be able to predict your income precisely. However, if you want
to see how much activity it takes to generate a certain amount
of income, you can project "scenarios." For example, you can calculate
what would happen if everyone in your network were to generate
20eV from sales and introduce one new Business Owner each month.
While these scenarios can't predict the future, and they certainly
can't guarantee your income, they can give you an idea of how
activity is rewarded by the Profit Plan and how much activity
it would take to generate a certain amount of income. Click here
to view details of the Profit Plan
and some scenarios.
- Do I need to make purchases every month to receive profits?
No. eCosway does not require you to make any purchases. However,
you do need to have activity in your personal branch in order
to receive profits. You need 15eV and 5-30 QUs each month to qualify
for your profit payout.
- How do I earn eV and Qualification Units (QUs)?
eV or "eVolume" is generated from sales. Click
here for details on eV. QUs
for purchases made on this website
are awarded in the following manner:
5 QUs are awarded for the first transaction made by each shopper
in your personal branch each month plus 1 QU is awarded for every
$10 spent by your shoppers in one transaction. Click here for
more information about QUs. If you are from a country with offline sales centers and/or your own country site, the QUs generated from sales made at these centers or your country site may be awarded differently. Please check with your center or your country site for details.
- Do I earn eV and QUs from my own purchases?
Yes. You can consider yourself as one of the shoppers buying from
your branch to qualify for the eV and QU payout.
- Do I earn eV and QUs from the purchases of shoppers referred
by my shoppers?
Yes. Shoppers referred by your shoppers are still part of your
shopper network. You earn eV and QUs from shoppers' purchases,
no matter how many generations of referrals occur. In this respect,
eV and QUs are different from Value Points, which you earn only
from shoppers you personally refer.
- Do I earn eV and QUs from the purchases of shoppers referred
by other Business Owners in my branch network?
No. Shoppers referred by other Business Owners shop at their branches,
not yours.
- Does eCosway put eVolume into reserve instead of automatically
paying profits on it?
Unless you chose "On" to eV Reserve during your registration,
eCosway will put your eV into profit calculation by default. If you chose "On", all eV earned from non-Initial
Sale Offer (ISO) sales made during the month will be kept in
reserve
during the ISO period, and your ISO sale will
be put into profit calculation. (If your ISO sale generates more
than 5 eV, only the first 5 eV will be used for the ISO and by
default, and be put into profit calculation. Any additional
eV from that sale will be kept in reserve.)
After that, only the first 15eV from each invoice will go into
the current month's profit calculation, the rest will go into
reserve. For legal reasons and to help everyone qualify for profits,
the system will also take 15eV from your reserve on the 10th of
each month and apply it to the current month's calculation.
Important: eV reserve is not available in all countries. If your country has offline operations, please check with your HQ or sales centre. In countries where it IS available , a maximum of 100eV can be kept in eV Reserve at any one time. eV exceeding that amount will go into profit calculation even when eV Reserve is activated (On).
eV generated from these purchases will NOT be placed in eV Reserve but will be used for profit calculation, even if your selected eV Reserve option is "ON":
- Purchases using CVPs
- Purchases using VPs
- Purchases made at offline centres
|
- What can I do with my eVolume in reserve?
You can activate or de-activate eV Reserve each month from the "My Profile" section of your Online Office. And you
can choose at any time to place any or all of your reserved eVolume
into calculation for the month. You can even choose where (in
your own network) you want to use it. Your Business Status report
will show you exactly how much eVolume your Personal Branch and
your Business Owner Branches have generated in the month so far.
By looking at the Profit and Incentive Charts, you might decide
to use some of the eVolume you have in reserve on one of your
Business Owner Branches in order to help you achieve a higher
incentive. This feature is called eMax.
to see an example of this.
- What happens to the eV and QUs of products my shoppers
or I return?
When a product is returned, the eV and QUs assigned to that returned
merchandise would be reversed from your personal branch upon the
supplier's confirmed receipt and acceptance of the merchandise.
If your personal branch does not have sufficient eV or QUs for
the reversal, deductions will be made in subsequent months, until
the eV and QUs are completely recovered.
- Does a sale that qualifies for the 5 QUs "first transaction" still qualify for 1 QU every $10?
Yes. For example, a $30 sale will get you 5 + 3 = 8 QUs if it
is the first purchase
in this website a shopper makes in your branch this month. Please note that the "first transaction" 5 QUs are only awarded for purchases made on this site (not for offline or country site purchases)
- Does "first purchase" mean the first transaction ever
by a shopper, or the first transaction in the Month?
Where QUs are concerned, first purchase refers to the first transaction on this site
in a month. The same shopper is more than welcome to return to
shop month after month. Each month, his or her first purchase
gets you 5 QUs.
- Why don't purchases after the first one also generate
5 QUs ? The whole idea behind QUs is to encourage Business
Owners to bring in lots of shoppers. If we gave 5 QUs for every
purchase, some Business Owners may be tempted to have one shopper
split up his or her purchase into 5 transactions, rather than
getting 5 different shoppers.
- Do I earn 1 QU for every $10 of my total sales volume
for the month, or every $10 per transaction?
You earn 1 QU for every $10 per transaction on this site. Therefore,
if you have 2 shoppers buying $15 each, you earn 2 QUs, one for
each transaction, and not 3.
- Are QU requirements based on the eV of each of my branches,
or on the total profit payout I am eligible for?
QU requirements are based on the total profits you are owed for
the month.
- How do I check how many eV and QUs I have in reserve?
Login to your online office, and click "Business Status".
Your QU tally will be shown at the top of the page. You can also
go to your "Transaction Log" and see the status of your
eV and QU Reserves, and details of how each transaction in the
current month has affected the reserves. When using these numbers,
please keep in mind the amounts of eV and QUs that will be auto-applied.
All (if you chose "OFF" for eV Reserve) or none (if
you chose "ON" for eV Reserve) of your eV will be automatically
deducted from your reserve on the tenth day of each month, and
up to 30 QUs will be deducted from your reserve as necessary when
your profits are calculated. So, any time you check if you have
enough QUs to qualify for profits, please take into consideration
any QUs that will be deducted as qualification for a prior month.
- How do I check my branch network sales or eVolume?
Login to your Online Office and click on "My Business Status." You can see the status of your eVolume by branch.
- When do I receive my profits?
Normally, profits are paid into your eAccount 6 weeks after the
month-end of the calculated month.
- Why does it take so long for eCosway to pay?
This period is necessary for us to ensure that returns by Shoppers
and credit card frauds are accounted for and adjusted. As eCosway
operates a truly global business, such verification takes time.
- Why does eCosway pay my earning into an eAccount, instead
of my bank account?
Remitting money to your country/republic and converting it into your local
currency can be relatively expensive when your earning is low.
Therefore we give all Business Owners an option to keep some earning
in their eAccounts, which they can use for their personal purchases.
You choose the amount you want to keep in your eAccount, and also
how much the excess should be before we effect a transfer to your
bank account. To do so, login to your Online Office and click
on "My Profile".
- Can I choose not to retain any amount in my eAccount?
Yes.
- Will eCosway deduct (income / withholding) taxes on my
behalf?
No. You are responsible for submitting any taxes that you owe
to any tax authorities in your country of residence.
D. Managing My Network
- Is there a limit on the number
of branches I can have linked to my personal branch?
No. There is no limit.
- How does eCosway know that
a particular prospect who registers as an eCosway Business Owner
was introduced by me?
Anyone who enters the eCosway mall for the first time must be
"invited" by either a registered shopper or a registered Business
Owner. Since your prospect accessed eCosway with your ID, his
or her new branch will be automatically linked to yours in your
branch network.
- Can I determine where new
Business Owners I personally referred are placed in my global
branch network?
You can do so by having the new Business Owner register from the
branch you want him or her to be linked to. For example, if you
give a prospect X your personal Business Owner ID, X 's new branch
will be linked directly to yours when he registers. Say you want
another prospect, Y's branch to be linked to X's branch instead
of yours, then you should get Y to register from X's branch. To
do so, you get Y to access eCosway using X's Business Owner ID,
not yours. Therefore, it is very important that you decide where
your new prospective Business Owner will be placed in your branch
network before helping him or her to sign up because once he or
she registers, he or she cannot be moved to another "location"
in your network.
- What information do I know
about the individual Business Owners and Shoppers in my business
network?
You can access the ID of each Business Owner and Shopper.
All other personal data remains confidential. Please see our Privacy
Policy.
- How can I check if the people
I introduced have registered?
Select "My New Branches" in your Online Office. You will see a
list of IDs of new Business Owners who registered directly with
you this month, but not their names; as we wish to protect the
identity of some Business Owners who prefer to remain anonymous.
Therefore, to know whom these new direct branches belong to, you
will have to refer to the people whom you earlier contacted about
eCosway.
- How can I access my branch
network structure?
You access your entire Business Owner branch network or shopper
network by selecting "View Branch Network" or "View Shopper Network"
in your Online Office and following the instructions given.
- What happens when a Shopper
in my network decides to become a Business Owner?
When a Shopper in your network becomes a Business Owner, his or
her new branch will be linked directly to your branch. All shoppers
he or she previously referred, directly or indirectly, will now
purchase in this new branch, instead of in your personal branch.
- What happens when a Business
Owner in my branch network fails to renew his eCosway access?
When a Business Owner fails to renew, he will be converted to
a Shopper on the first day of the following month of his eCosway
access expiry date. His branch network will be passed up to the
nearest upline Business Owner. He can keep any Value Points (VPs)
earned during his Business Ownership period and he will continue
to earn VPs on his own purchases and on purchases made by the
Shoppers in his network.
- What happens when a Business
Owner in my branch network opts for the 14-day cancellation refund?
When a Business Owner opts for the 14-day refund cancellation,
he or she loses all Value Points and his or her network and eVolume
is passed to the nearest upline Business Owner. Cancelled Business
Owners do NOT automatically become Shoppers. If they want to obtain
shopper status, they must make an online purchase using a Business
Owner's ID and go through the shopper registration process. If
they want to rejoin eCosway again under a different sponsor, they
have to wait 3 months before doing so.
- How can I change the structure
or linkage of my network?
You may not change the structure of your shopper or branch network.
