Autoresponders

What autoresponders do

Autoresponders are basically "email on demand." A basic autoresponder is either an email address that people can send an email to, or a link on a website that asks people to enter their email address in order to receive information by email. Once it is triggered, an autoresponder will automatically reply back to an email with a prepared response, or automatically send that response to any address entered into the system.

Autoresponders can also be programmed to automatically send out a series of prepared responses at specified intervals. All you have to do is load up the messages you want sent out and tell the system when you want them sent, and where you want them sent. The rest is automatic.

Why you want to use autoresponders?

  • Autoresponders allow people to easily retrieve information from you
  • Autoresponders allow you to capture the email addresses of your prospects
  • Autoresponders allow you to easily follow up with prospects who are interested.
  • Autoresponders can work for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week whether you're working, sleeping or on vacation.
Even if you could send someone directly to your ecosway.com site, why would you want to? You wouldn't know that they visited unless they bought something or signed up. If you use an autoresponder first, you'll be able to capture their email address, monitor their interest and follow up with them!

Where can you get autoresponders?

You can get free autoresponders, or you can pay for them. It's generally better to pay for them (unless you really can't afford it). There are two reasons for this:

  1. There are a lot of spammers out there who use free autoresponders. Because of the anti-spam vigilantes the servers where the autoresponders reside get blacklisted. This means that other ISPs won't accept email from that service anymore. If you use an autoresponder which is blacklisted, the messages you think you're sending out, will not actually be delivered.
  2. Nothing of value is ever really "free." Usually free autoresponders want something from you. Often it is to place advertisements at the bottom of each email you send out. This could be a problem since you never know what type of ads will appear there. By using these services you could inadvertently advertise for one of your competitors or maybe even for a porn site!

Here are some sites you can check for autoresponder services. These services have not been checked by or endorsed by eCosway. This is just a starting point. You can always go to any search engine and search for the term "autoresponder" to find more.
