Another way to find discussion boards to just to go to any search engine and enter the search terms, "discussion board" "message board" or "forum"

Newsgroups

Google Groups will give you direct access to newsgroups, but it's actually easier to use a "newsreader" to search through categories and subscribe to newsgroups.
Free newsreaders are provided by Outlook, Outlook Express, Netscape, AOL, etc. Just go to the help section and search on the term "newsgroup" to find easy instructions on how to set yours up.
