Step 2- Principles For Success

Here are four very important principles that should guide you in this business.

  • Why can be even more important than what.
  • It's easier to take off at "full throttle"
  • You have to move a lot of dirt to find gold
  • Leverage is better than hard labor any day of the week

Why Can Be Even More Important Than What.

It's very important to think about "why" you want to achieve your goals. There are two reasons for this:

 1) It would be a shame for you to work hard at achieving something only to      discover that it didn't bring you the end result you wanted. Make sure that      the goals you set will bring you the results and circumstances you really      want.

 2) Your "why" will really get you going, and keep you going-- even when the      going gets tough.

It's easy to give up on or compromise your goals when they're just ideas. It's much harder to give up on your dreams. If you simply say that you want to earn $100,000 per year with eCosway, you might easily settle for $80,000, or even $30,000. On the other hand, if you know that you'll need the full $100,000 to send your kids to a good university, you probably won't settle for anything less.

Once you know your "why", you can use it to fuel a burning desire. This is accomplished by using your creative imagination to really experience the difference between your present life and your future one.

It's Easier to Take Off at "Full Throttle"

Many people do eCosway part time because they have other commitments. That's not a problem-in fact, you can actually build a successful eCosway business by working 2-10 hours per week. However, it's important to realize that the more effort you put into your business in the beginning, the easier the whole thing will become.

Think of what a pilot has to do to get an airplane off the ground. He has to pull back full throttle until the plane lifts off. Then he continues to push it until the plane reaches the right altitude. Then, and only then, does he ease off of the throttle and settle into cruising mode. Imagine what would happen if a pilot tried to lift off with just a little bit of effort, or what would happen if he eased up in the middle of the initial climb!

Well it's a similar phenomenon with your eCosway business. If you start out coasting, it's not likely that you'll soar quickly to success! If you take several months to "get ready" and another few months to talk to your first prospect or send your first email, it will be very hard for you to muster any enthusiasm and by that time, you're likely to be plagued with the question, "How much money are you making?"

When you're just starting out and you talk to your friends and relatives, they only have to believe in the potential of the business in order to decide to work with you…. but if you've been in the business for awhile, they're going to want to see proof that it works for you before they will want to risk their own money or efforts.

If you start off with great effort and enthusiasm, you will find it easy to transfer your enthusiasm to others. On the other hand, It's a much better idea to "go for the gusto" and apply full throttle until your business has really taken off. When you know it's working and growing, you can switch on the cruise control and coast if you want to.

The sooner you succeed, the easier success becomes because big results fuel even bigger beliefs. Bigger beliefs trigger bigger and better actions, which fuel even bigger and better results and so on. It's a self-sustaining, ever-more-successful spiral.

Why not decide to really give this business your best shot and to go all out? You've decided to do it. Why not decide to really do it right? Why not give yourself a head-start and a great chance for success?

You Have to Move a Lot of Dirt to Find a Little Gold.

Finding Shoppers and Business Owners will be like mining for gold. Sometimes you have to move a lot of dirt to find a little gold. Just as the whole earth isn't covered with precious metal, the whole earth isn't filled with people who want to shop and collect Value Points, or go into business for themselves. Your job is to sift through the people who don't want to become Shoppers or Business Owners as quickly as possible so you can find the ones who do!

Just as you shouldn't become disheartened by dirt while goldmining, you shouldn't become disheartened or demoralized by naysayers, negative people or "nos" while marketing your eCosway business.

Just keep talking to people and sending them to your website. Let them decide whether eCosway is right for them. If it isn't, don't worry about it! Just keep getting the word out and promoting your business, you'll prosper in time. The numbers will work for you if you just keep working the system.

Leverage is Better Than Labor

In his brilliant book, The E Myth, Michael Gerber points out that most small businesses fail because the owners go to work in the business instead of working on the business. They busy themselves doing a "job", and they lose site of what creates growth and sustainability. He suggests that the key to success lies in the ability to turn a business into a system that anyone can follow so that you can leverage the time and talents of other people rather than being limited to the payoff of your own efforts alone.

eCosway's B.O.S.S. is a system that will work for anyone that works it. Your job as a business owner is not only to work the system, but also to find other people who are willing to do the same.

Leverage is the key to wealth. Think about the difference between employees and business owners. An employee can only earn so much money because he or she can only do so much and be paid so much. On the other hand, the income potential of a business owner is limited only by the number of people he or she can train to produce what the market wants. Bill Gates has at least 25,000 people working for him. That means that he is earning a profit on over one million hours per week!

If you really want to build a successful business that will last and grow, you'll need to focus a lot of effort on helping other Business Owners be successful. Profiting from the fruits of their labor will bring you far more wealth than retailing alone (even though retailing can certainly be very profitable!).
