Why
does the Hexagon have so many cartridges?
There is a lot of science behind the Hexagon system. The various
media utilized in the 6 cartridges were carefully chosen to ensure
that all germs, bacteria, parasites, chemicals and contaminants
are removed and all of the healthy benefits of natural living water
are restored.
How
is The Hexagon different from other water filtration systems?
There are two major differences. First of all, most filtration systems
use only one or two types of filtration or purification technology.
Unfortunately, there are just too many types of contaminants in
our environment today for one or two processes to handle. Each filtration
or purification process is good for removing certain contaminants
but not others. The Hexagon system uses an advanced 6-cartridge
process with multiple technologies to effectively remove the entire
spectrum of contaminants without removing healthy minerals and trace
minerals.
The second major difference is that
even a very good filtration system will generally only produce clean
water that is safe to drink. The Hexagon produces clean LIVING water
and gives your body what it needs for cellular hydration. It goes
beyond filtration or purification and replicates nature's ecosystem
to recreate all the qualities of natural, healthy water (the qualities
were killed by pollutants and chemical treatment plants). Hexagon
water is oxygen-rich, has the same pH as our blood plasma and contains
the right balance of healthy ionic minerals for your body. Its small,
energized molecular clusters penetrate cell membranes easily, maintaining
maximum hydration for health and well-being - something purified
water alone cannot do.
If
the Hexagon is so much better, why is it cheaper than other systems?
Quality is a fact. Pricing is a choice. Products are
not priced according to manufacturing costs, but according to whatever
the company feels the market will bear. Water filtration companies
know that people will pay a lot for good water because it is so
important to their health. The money gained by the huge mark up
between the manufacturing cost and the retail price is generally
paid out to salespeople, (although a healthy portion can be kept
by the companies as well.) If you want to know how much of your
hard- earned money is going to sales commissions rather than water
quality-- just look into being a representative for any system you're
thinking of buying.
The Hexagon is a top quality water
treatment system. In fact, it is truly one of the best you can buy.
It was custom built for our parent company, Cosway, after they spent
years reviewing various water technologies and the claims made about
them. There are three reasons the Hexagon is priced so reasonably:
- For over 20 years, our parent company,
Cosway has operated with the philosophy--"Quality Products
at Affordable Prices." The Hexagon is no exception. They
built the best possible system, and they offer it at the best
possible consumer price.
- eCosway is a global company that
strives to make the products reasonable, and the profit plan requirements
"doable" for people all over the world. The Hexagon
price may seem inexpensive for some people in some countries,
but to people in other countries, the price represents a huge
sacrifice. We want quality water and good health to be available
to everyone everywhere.
- The Hexagon pricing strategy was
not designed to give salespeople one big commission one time.
It was designed to give people an incentive to join as eCosway
Business Owners. (Would you rather have one golden egg, or a goose
that LAYS golden eggs?) eCosway offers an income opportunity that
is based on the natural laws of word-of-mouth. When people find
great products at great prices, they naturally tell others. When
people bring others to eCosway, we naturally pay them for it-since
we save on marketing costs. We called this Mutual MarketingÔ
because it is a mutual win for everybody-Shoppers, Business Owners,
and Suppliers.
How
does Hexagon water compare to RO or distilled water?
Reverse Osmosis and Distillation processes do a very good job at
removing contaminants from your water, but they start with dead
tap water and do nothing to restore the vital properties of natural
living water.
Water that has had everything removed
from it, is considered molecularly "aggressive" which
means that it eagerly bonds with contaminants from the air and leaches
substances from plastic containers. Pure living water, on the other
hand, naturally resists germs, bacteria and pathogens because of
its mineral and oxygen content and because of its more "completed"
molecular structure.
Here is an excerpt from the book, Don't
Drink The Water-The Essential Guide to Our Contaminated Drinking
Water and What You Can Do About It (a consumer guide that does not
endorse any particular product, but merely explains different technologies
that are available):
"RO systems waste water at
the rate of 4 to 9 gallons for every gallon of drinking water
produced. This problem, coupled with the fact that the waste water
concentrates harmful impurities and reintroduces them into the
environment, has made the technology illegal in some water-starved
localities. But there is another, potentially more serious problem
with reverse-osmosis water filtration systems. According to a
study published in Canada by Canadian virologists, it was discovered
that RO systems have a penchant for growing bacteria, apparently
because the finished water is devoid of chlorine and takes so
long to be made. Because the water sits stagnant at room temperature,
sometimes for days, RO systems become an ideal breeding ground
for bacteria, which can double their populations very 20 minutes
or so. In their study of many types of RO systems, the virologists
measured an average of 10,000 bacteria per millileter of water-20
times the accepted level for city tap water. About a third of
the filters produced water with more than 100,000 bacteria per
ml, or 200 times more than average tap water. Some bred up to
10 million bacteria per ml! The study went on to further demonstrate
that, because of this contamination, people who drink RO water
suffer 10 times the number of bouts with gastroenteritis as people
who drink tap water
because of the aggressive nature of reverse-osmosis
water, minerals should be added back to the water for long-term
use."
The same goes for distilled water.
It is costly, time consuming and not necessarily good for you. Here
is an excerpt from, The Drinking Water Book (another
independent consumer protection book that discusses the pros and
cons of every type of water treatment process but does not endorse
any products):
"Purified water may also
be labeled distilled water, water for distillation uses, de-ionized
water, or demineralized water. In addition to having gone through
other cleansing processes, each of these labels indicates that
the water has had essentially all of its minerals removed and
none re-added. So in a sense of there being nothing in it but
water, this is the purest water. However, the relevant point is
not how "pure" it is, but whether or not it is good
for you
Purified water has had all of its foreign constitutents
(which are mostly minerals) removed. This is not a natural state.
In the natural state, water contains many different types of minerals.
Once purified, water will try to return to its natural state by
reacting chemically with any material it contacts. Because of
this tendency, purified water is "aggressive" water
In
my opinion, based upon the research I have surveyed, the "aggressiveness"
of purified water may cause long-term health problems."
I've
read that drinking de-mineralized or distilled water is best. Why
do you add minerals?
There are many reasons for this. First of all, water without natural
minerals tastes really flat. If you want optimum health, you need
to drink a lot of water. Very few people are willing to drink 8
glasses of water a day when it doesn't taste good or satisfy their
thirst.
Secondly, while the body can manufacture many crucial vitamins,
it cannot manufacture a single crucial mineral. Supplements cannot
provide minerals in ionic form (the form most bio-available to your
cells). Fruits and vegetables have ionic minerals, but very few people
can obtain them fresh enough, or eat enough of them to satisfy daily
mineral requirements. One of the best and easiest ways to ensure
that your body is getting all the minerals it needs is to drink
them! The Hexagon system is designed to remove any minerals that
are bad for you (like chlorides and negative acidic minerals) and
to give you all of the good minerals and trace minerals in their
natural ionic form.
Finally, the argument that it's better
to drink only distilled water is questionable. Here's another excerpt
from The Drinking Water Book:
"Literally dozens of books written
by well-meaning doctors, nutritionists and practitioners of holistic
medicine claim that essentially all disease is caused by minerals
in water-so that by drinking distilled water you will be reinvigorated,
your arthritis or hardened arteries will disappear, and so on.
These well-meaning authors actually know very little about water
chemistry, and the "evidence" they present is heavily
biased and without credibility. An argument against drinking distilled
water is that you lose a primary source of necessary minerals
in your diet, and further, that because the water has lost its
own minerals, it attracts and grabs minerals within your body,
causing a mineral deficit. This argument has some plausibility.
Though we get most of our minerals from fruits and vegetables,
and mineral shortages in our bodies are unlikely if a normal diet
of mixed foods is eaten, water that has a high mineral content
definitely contributes to good health
Over the past twenty-five
years, research has continued to amass in support of the beneficial
role of minerals in water. Studies of populations in areas with
naturally occurring high mineral content (versus low mineral content)
have found significantly fewer occurrences of cardiovascular diseases,
cancer, diabetes, respiratory diseases, and other health problems."
I
usually boil my tap water before drinking it. Do I still need to
boil Hexagon water?
No. Hexagon water is completely safe, straight from the tap. The
multiple-step treatment system removes all bacteria, viruses, parasites
and microbes that boiling is supposed to kill, plus it removes all
the toxic chemicals that boiling doesn't.
What
if I boil or freeze Hexagon water, will the health-giving properties
be destroyed?
No. The healthful properties of Hexagon water are not affected by
temperature changes. Just like natural living water, the energized,
oxygen rich micro-molecular structure of Hexagon Living Water is
very stable. You would have to pollute or poison the water to "kill"
it again.
Then
why do you recommend that I only run cold water through the Hexagon?
You should never run hot water through any filtration system because
hot water can damage the filters.
Is
Hexagon water suitable for babies and children?
Of course! It is perfectly safe and is probably the best water you
can give them.
Will
bottling affect the healthful properties of Hexagon water?
There is no evidence to indicate that Hexagon water loses its healthful
properties when bottled, but it is always a good idea to drink the
freshest water possible. Bottling it for a day or a week is no problem.
If you want to keep it for a month or more, refrigerating it would
be best.
Can
sick people benefit from Hexagon water?
Yes. In fact, cellular dehydration is the root cause of many illnesses
and diseases. (See www.watercure.com
for lots more information about this) Health experts and doctors
always advocate drinking lots of water whenever a patient is sick,
in pain, or on medication. Water hydrates the cells and flushes
out toxins. Since Hexagon living water gets into cells better and
faster than most other types of water, it should help to expedite
recovery and establish overall wellness. You should increase your
consumption of Hexagon water to at least 10-15 glasses a day during
convalescence.
Is
Hexagon water safe for people with kidney stones?
Yes, it is absolutely safe. If a person has kidney stones, it is
very important to drink plenty of good water to flush the system
and ease the burden on the kidneys.
Can
you drink too much Hexagon water?
No. In fact, the more you drink, the healthier you'll be!
The
water pressure in my house is low. Can I use a Hexagon system?
Yes. Hexagon has been tested under various water pressure conditions
and has always performed satisfactorily. If your pressure is particularly
low, water will flow through the Hexagon more slowly, but the quality
will be just as good.
I've
heard that if you leave a water system unused for a long period
of time that bacteria can build up inside the system. Does that
happen with the Hexagon?
No. The cartridges of the Hexagon system are all designed to inhibit
bacteria growth, even if water is left stagnant inside. For extra
protection, the first cartridge of the Hexagon contains a Dupont
Micro-FreeÒ anti-bacterial filter that is designed to stop
bacteria from entering the system in the first place. However, water
that has been sitting for a long period of time will probably not
taste as fresh, so if haven't used the system in a while, you should
let the water run for several minutes before drinking it.
How
much do the cartridge refills cost and how often do they need to
be replaced?
The cartridges cost US $23.70 each. Two of them are permanent and
never need replacing. Two of them must be replaced every year, and
two of them must be replaced every two years. If you follow the
recommended replacement schedule, you can have pure, clean living
water straight from your tap for less than a penny per liter!
Where
is this system from?
Just like our eCosway Business owners, the Hexagon is truly international.
It is made up of filters and components from suppliers all over
the world and is assembled in Taiwan. The Dupont MicroFree Anti-Bacterial
filter and the KDF filter come from the USA, one of the filters
is from Germany and other parts of the system come from Japan and
other countries. All components are certified by established quality
control institutions, tested for quality assurance, and carefully
put together to reproduce the ideal qualities of living water based
on the latest science and technology available.
Does
the Hexagon use electricity?
No. It just attaches to your tap.
Is
the Hexagon portable?
Not really. Although you can certainly detach it from the tap and
move it to another location, it is not designed to be carried around.
What
kind of maintenance does it require?
Besides changing the filters according to the recommended replacement
schedule, you just need to clean the ceramic filter once in a while.
How
often do I need to clean the ceramic filter?
That depends on how dirty your tap water is. The dirtier it is,
the more often you will need to clean the ceramic filter. Most people
need to clean it once every 3 to 4 weeks. Just lift off the top
of the Hexagon and check once in a while. You will be able to tell
by looking at the filter (the housing is clear) whether it needs
cleaning or not. It is white when it is clean and dark yellow or
brown when it is dirty.
How
do I clean the filter?
Remove the filter following the diagram in your owner's manual using
the tool provided with your unit. Use the scrub pad that is provided
(or any other pad or brush) to clean the filter. Then just put it
back in its cartridge and you're all set!
Can
I use this system if the water source is untreated well water?
No. This system is not designed to work with untreated ground water.
The much higher salt content of untreated ground water can disrupt
the performance of Hexagon's filtration media. Check back soon though,
because we will be coming out with another model designed for this
purpose.
How
can I be sure that the cartridges are still working?
The Hexagon system is designed to treat 10,000 liters of water between
filter changes.
The best way to ensure optimum performance is to change the cartridges
according to the recommended schedule. If at any time you find your
Hexagon water tastes unusual, test it for chlorine using the Reagent
provided. The presence of chlorine is the quickest indicator that
the cartridges are no longer functioning optimally.
How
can the system's mineral cartridge last a lifetime? (Other systems
recommend replacing their mineral cartridges).
In nature, stones in river beds interact with the minerals carried
by the water so their ability to create the perfect ionic mineral
mix for drinking is continuously renewed. Only when acid rain and
pollution strip mineral deposits of their properties do they break
down and lose their vital mineral oxides. The Hexagon uses a proprietary
method of mineralization that replicates Nature's activity so it
is continuously self-renewing as long as the tap water running through
it has raw mineral content (all known tap water does). Other brands
of filtration systems mineralize the water after using reverse osmosis
or distillation which has stripped the water of raw minerals. That's
why their mineral filters need replacing.
What
does the "KDF" in cartridge 5 stand for?
KDF® stands for "Kinetic Degradation Fluxion", which
is a fancy name for one of the newest patented technologies for
water treatment. KDF® is a high-purity copper and zinc alloy
that eliminates contaminants by utilizing electrochemical oxidation
reduction (more commonly known as "redox"). When used
in conjunction with carbon filtration, KDF forms an environment
which is highly effective at killing or disabling most microorganisms.
Here is a description about KDF from the book, Don't Drink The
Water-The Essential Guide to Our Contaminated Drinking Water and
What You Can Do About It:
"Premium drinking water filtration
systems combine KDF®with other media which work best at removing
what KDF®won't. Since KDF creates a bacteriostatic environment,
the carbon's bed does not become a breeding ground for harmful
bacteria. Independent laboratory tests confirm user experience
that KDF® is one of the best tools for improving drinking
and bathing water naturally and economically. Compared to carbon-only
units, KDF® lasts far longer, doesn't permit bacterial growth,
and removes a much wider range of inorganic matter (e.g. heavy
metals). Compared to reverse-osmosis, KDF® is less expensive,
wastes no water, does not require membrane replacement, works
in most water temperatures, and removes chlorine. Compared to
ultraviolet light, KDF® works in turbid water, doesn't require
bulb replacement or electricity, and takes out inorganics. Compared
to ozone, KDF® lasts longer than 17 seconds for a continued
residual bacteriostatic effect in water, does not require electricity,
and costs less. Compared to water softeners, KDF® reduces
hard scale and helps to condition water without the need for brine
tanks, or salt replacement. It is also less expensive to install
and operate."
The Hexagon uses KDF® in conjunction
with other proven technologies to make sure you are getting the
purest water possible.
What
does the FIR in cartridge 6 stand for?
FIR stands for Far Infrared Ray which is one of the healthy rays
emitted from the sun's spectrum. FIR has become somewhat of a phenomenon
in recent years. There are all kinds of products on the market that
emit Far Infrared Rays for healing purposes. Some health spas now
charge a small fortune for an afternoon of FIR exposure. The Hexagon
system utilizes FIR because it is an energizing wavelength that
is very close to the wavelength of natural water. When water passes
through the EC3000 energizing cartridge, the FIR high-energy beads
vibrate and resonate with the water molecules to break them into
small energized clusters that easily penetrate and nourish your
cells-just like natural living water that has been energized by
the sun and the earth's electromagnetic fields.
Why
doesn't the Hexagon have a backwash system?
The Hexagon is designed in such a way that backwashing is completely
unnecessary
Backwashing systems supposedly flush accumulated sediment and toxins
out of a filter to regenerate it and increase its lifespan. However,
the effectiveness of this process is questionable and it can potentially
do more harm than good. In The Drinking Water Book, it says,
" While carbon backwashing
will remove much of the accumulated sediment within the filter,
it generally is not effective in removing chemical pollutants
from within the pores of the carbon. Because of this, and because
it increases the potential for pollutant breakaway, I do not recommend
backwashing."
Hexagon filters are designed to work
effectively for the length of time stated in your user's manual.
They are also designed to ensure that sediment and contaminants
do not get back into the water
Does
the free shipping offer apply to my country?
We have included a generous freight subsidy in the pricing of the
Hexagon. Since the actual shipping charge of a Hexagon to most countries
is equal to or less than the subsidy amount, there is usually no
freight charged to the customer. In countries where the actual freight
charge is more than the subsidy amount, the difference is charged
to the customer. From most of the examples we've seen, this amount
is very low, but since we have already given all the discounts we
can on this product, (and freight companies don't ship things for
free), we have no choice but to charge this small difference to
the customer.
The following countries are definitely
covered by the subsidy so shipping to these countries is free. If
your country isn't on the list, you will need to go through the
order process and enter in the delivery address to see the freight
charge (if any) to your destination. You will be able to see this
charge before you need to submit payment.
